The language really is coming to me so much, i guess momma was
right when she said imma mexican, i've denied it all these years but
theres no hiding it now... My backs against the wall by all these
investigators wanting some gospel goodness in espanol so i gotta pull
out the last trick i got under my sleeve: My Beanerness.
This week was actually really good, i'm finally getting used
to hitting the books twelve hours a day and i'm able to focus and not
fall asleep during class which is good, im kinda running the show for my
district and my zone so everyones looking to me... It kinda sucks that i
gootta be the good example because i'm nowhere near good enough to be
an example here in the classroom but were getting there and its good for
me, because if i wasn't in this position i'd probably be sleeping all
day!!! I made this new scripture journal thingy hear outta a binder and
a bunch of tabs and its definitely helping me to remember my scrips,
thats one thing that i'm getting pretty good at that was entirely
unexpected!!! i'm able to memorize the scrips pretty good, we'll be
sitting there teaching a lesson and i'll have 2 or 3 scrips just pop
into my head and we DO WORK!!! hahaha its way cool, but its definitely
the spirit, i would never be able to memorize those if i wasn't being
helped haha so grateful for it!!!
Had a huge confidence builder this week, we do this thing
every tuesday night called TRC, meaning real people (not hired) come
volunteer to be an investigator or just come to be taught more about the
gospel... All speak spanish. I taught this old guy who was a air force
veteran and who was a spanish professer at byu H for like 40 years..
The spirit was so strong in that lesson, i don't even remember what i
said but i was so fluent in spanish,we had a ledgit conversationin
espanol for like 30 minutes about the atonement!!! These people
afterwards all write a little critique of your lesson and this guy was
blown away by how well i spoke after just two weeks and he said that im
ready for the field right now... THat was so awesome to hear because it
really is so tiring to be reading, speaking and learning in a language
you don;t understand, everythings finally paying off!!!
Guys i am so blessed to be on the west campus, the teachers
here are awesome and the scheduling and rules are so much more relaxed,
if i wasn't here i would go insane in the main campus!!! hahaha sorry
idk why i said that but i did so GET OVER IT.
New years was a blast actually, they let us stay up. Well
idk if we actually had permission but it happened anyway, our zone blew
thru a couple cases of martinellis and tons of snack food while playing
DEstiny ball... Hahaha basically we have a mini basketball hoop set up
and we all take turns shooting and every shot is accompanied with a
challenge to someone else that must be done if the shot is made...
THeres a bunch of smaller rules but thats the jist of it!!! Hahahahaha
the challenges are awesome stuff too, like this one kid had to do the
nueman challenge (named after an elder here monthes ago who made it) he
had to mix every single food in a blender and throw in a ton of mayo
and other foods and eat it.. He didn't throw up but he was definitely
close... Hahahahaha wednesday was so funny, tons of kids in my zone with
stripes shaved into their legs, eating some of the nastiest things
ever!!! Definitely was a new years to remember lemme tell ya!!! Elder
Maluia got sick wednesday morning so we had to hang out in the
apartement all morning, it was so weird to not be doing anything, and
even weirder to think that just a few short weeks ago thats all i'd do
in the monring... sit there and do nothing!!! haha
Wednesday we had a new crop of Elders come in, it feels so so
good to not be the "newbies" anymore, and seeing where they are at now
and knowing that i was in the same position just a few weeks ago, and
seeing how far i've come is mind blowing!! God is definitely at work
here, helping us to get ready, i'm grateful so so so grateful for the
help!!!
Scripture of the week Psalms 55:16-18..."as for me, I will
call upod God; and the lord shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at
noon, willl i pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear hear my voice. He
hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me:
for there were many with me." -First and foremost i'd like to challenge
everyone to follow davids example of constant prayer, God does love us
and he wants to "deliver" (help) us so bad, we just have to ask him and
give thanks to him when he does... Let me point out something in that
scripture that many miss tho, read it and notice Davids faith... he
knows that god will help him and god helps him... God will work miracles
for each and everyone one of us, we just need to have the faith, so
this week i challenge you all to exercise your faith and come closer to
christ!!!
I'll throw in some pics for yall, but i really want some pics
of everyone!! Real pics, like the ones i can hold in my big fat sausage
fingers, so please please please, write me and send me some pictures
because i really do miss you all and pictures def put a smile on my
face!!! one love everyone
